Mr. Abdullah Al Mahmud, Managing Director of Hamid Fabrics Limited (HFL), is one of the well-known business personalities in Bangladesh. As an enthusiastic and dynamic entrepreneur, he has been involved in the RMG and Textile sector for the last 25 years. He is the founder with majority shareholder of Hamid Fabrics Limited, which is a concern of Mahin Group. The Group has experienced a rapid yet steady growth under his prudent leadership and vision. After graduation from the USA in 1992, Mr. Mahmud returned to Bangladesh and set up his own business. In the subsequent year, he founded and established an RMG unit called Mahin Apparels Limited that specialized in producing bottoms. During the time, he acknowledged the need for having backward linkage in the industry. Then he eventually set up Hamid Fabrics Limited with its Weaving Unit at Shilmandi, Narsingdi in 1996 and started Dyeing and Finishing Unit in 2003. Hamid Spinning Mills Limited and Tazrian Weaving Mills Limited were added as other members of the expanded Group in 2007 and 2013 respectively. Mr. Mahmud is Chairman of Crystal Insurance Company Limited, Hamid Weaving Mills Limited, Hamid Spinning Mills Limited, and Tazrian Weaving Mills Ltd. He is a member of the Executive Committed (EC) of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC). He was a Director of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA). He took part in many business dialogues as a delegate member representing Bangladesh. He is involved in many business forums and social causes. He has held CIP status of the Government as recognition to his contribution to the Country’s GDP.
